Our strategy shares our plans for the future
What we do
It has never been more critical to provide access to green space and to engage people deeply with nature – both for their own wellbeing and to inspire action to protect the natural world for the future.
Demonstrate
We care for and improve the spaces we manage for sustainability, biodiversity and to support healthy communities.
Engage
We engage and inspire people with the environment, empowering us all to make change happen for people and the planet
Influence
We influence decision makers so that more people can access and engage with diverse green spaces.
Our projects
-
Yellow Wagtail Partnership
The Yellow Wagtail Partnership is exploring the impact of different land management techniques on key species and the wider environment. -
Bessie’s field
Bessie's field, aquired in 2022, represents an exciting opportunity to further demonstrate how farming at scale can contribute to wellbeing, nature recovery, and climate change mitigation. -
Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme
Working in collaboration with the Environment Agency to advise on environmental, climate and human health benefits of this major scheme. -
Biodiversity Offsetting at Bushey Bank
Earth Trust signed the UK’s first formal biodiversity offsetting agreement in 2013, demonstrating how new partnerships can enable growth in business and improve the natural environment. -
River of Life I
Earth Trust partnered with the Environment Agency to implement an ambitious wetland habitat creation project on the banks of the Thames. -
Providing for pollinators
Bees, butterflies, moths and other pollinators are a vital part of our ecosystems but they're under serious threat. At Earth Trust Farm we're demonstrating how pollinator numbers can be improved, without compromising food production. -
Farmland Bird Conservation
Farmland birds indicate the quality of the agricultural environment as they sit near the top of the food chain. -
Ponds for Wildlife
Little Wittenham Wood is home to one the country’s most significant populations of great crested newts and in 2012 we created new ponds for them to breed in.
