Podcast Season 3 Episode 1: Celebrating soil, picking pumpkins and squashing waste
Whether splashing in it, harvesting food from it or handling it; mud makes humans happier at every age. So, this half term, join us down on the farm at Earth Trust to get your boots muddy and your hands grubby as we have fun with our favourite autumn harvest. With the help of our volunteers, we have been busy growing a wide range of squash and pumpkins of every size, shape and colour – beautiful to look at, and incredibly delicious.
In this episode, Verity talks to Amy and Stuart (our Public Programmes Manager and Environmental Education Manager) to find out how we’re welcoming visitors to our pumpkin patch, and revisits a conversation from last year about why looking after our soils and making careful choices about the food we consume is so important.
This podcast is part of our Thank the Earth season reminding us all to value the earth beneath our feet, and all that it provides.
