The Living World workshops

We take classroom-based learning and explore it in an outdoor setting making full use of the woodland, wildflower meadows, farmland, wetlands and heritage sites surrounding our centre.

Our two main Living World worshops are Marvellous Minibeasts suitable for EYFS/Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Rivers Day suitable for Key Stage 2, Key Stage 4. Our tutors will work with your students to offer them a unique day of wonder, discovery and learning.

Most of our workshops are a full day (10am-2.30pm) but some can be run as half days, or combined to create a full day of fun and learning.

We offer sessions throughout the year and tailor activities to the seasons. Our delivery is designed to be ‘Covid-safe’, with options to come to us or we can bring our sessions to your school.

  • Survival skills for new starters

    Challenge your class to some wilderness survival on the Wittenham Clumps.

  • Marvellous Minibeasts

    Bring your class on a habitat safari and discover the amazing creatures living in the woods, meadows and ponds.

  • Rivers Day

    Immerse your pupils in one of our 'blue spaces' and give them real life experience of river ecosystems.
