Thank you to our dedicated volunteers!
Senior Warden Tim Read joined Earth Trust in May last year. Reflecting on his first six months, Tim wants to thank all of our dedicated volunteers for their hard work and warm welcome.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our amazing volunteers for their hard work over 2018. Since starting in May I’ve been blown away by the enthusiasm and expertise in our various volunteer roles and teams. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my days working with our conservation volunteers both at the Earth Trust Farm and out on the Community Reserves, particularly working our way around Castle hill clearing scrub in the late summer and getting some scything practice out in Radley.
“I’ve also started to see just how much help we get across the Trust, with our educational work, events, admin, gardening, site maintenance and livestock management. To pick out a few: we have our fantastic hedgelaying team who have been busy this winter laying a hedge at the base of Round Hill; our site maintenance team have done a lovely job repairing the car park; and our volunteer carpenter has given the gates and signage around site a much needed refresh. Our work would not be possible without you all and we are so grateful you have chosen to donate your time to us.
“I also wanted to say thank you for making me feel immediately welcome as a new addition to the team here, working with volunteers is one of the real highlights for me and it’s been great getting to know you all.
“Wishing you all the best for 2019!”
