Spring: Season, Senses & Lambs
People & Planet learning experiences
Spring is a magical time of the year! Take time outside of the classroom to explore our farm as nature begins to awaken.
Your class will start their adventures with a senses safari to the iconic Wittenham Clumps. Climbing Round Hill to take in inspiring views of the Oxfordshire countryside your pupils will use all 5 of their senses to smell, see, touch, hear and taste, bringing this wonderous season to life.
In the afternoon, your class will get up close to the livestock with a visit to our shepherd Fred’s rare sheep breeds and new born lambs. Your pupils will learn about basic sheep husbandry and why sheep are important to help us look after our land.
Your pupils will leave Earth Trust feeling more connected to nature and aware of farming and farm animals.
Note: This session is only available from February to April. It includes a visit to our sheep sheds to see lambs and pregnant ewes – this part of the visit is NOT suitable for pregnant women.
