Spring Season and Senses
Early years outdoor learning experiences
Spring is an amazing time to visit us – there’s so much bursting into life across our farm, meadows and woodlands. It’s a perfect opportunity to engage all five senses to spot the signs of spring.
Pupils will learn about basic sheep husbandry and why our sheep are important to help look after the land, then take a sensory walk using all five senses to see, sniff, hear, touch and see what can be eaten (not by us!) in this wonderful season. Your class will also get close up to shepherd Emma’s new-born lambs – and if you’re very lucky, you might even see one being born.
Note: This workshop includes a visit to our sheep sheds to see lambs and pregnant ewes – this part of the visit is NOT suitable for pregnant women.
