Foraging Walks
A special series of events brought to you by Totally Wild UK in association with Earth Trust.
Totally Wild UK run foraging courses, with the aim of exciting people with the amazing flavours to be found in the wild, whilst promoting safe and sustainable foraging practices. We are delighted to welcome them to the Wittenham Clumps for a series of guided foraging walks.
NEW dates for 2025 just added!
Forage and Cook
The ultimate foraging experience! Lasting approximately 5-6 hours, in this fascinating event you’ll learn about foraging, explore the area, and enjoy a wild food meal.
Guided by a professional forager, you’ll take a slow-paced walk with frequent stop as you hear about the rules and ethics of foraging and how to confidently identify different plants, including their edible, medicinal, and herbal uses.
During the day, you’ll have the opportunity to sample an assortment of pre-made wild food items, including syrups, flavored salts, and alcohol infusions. These wild treats will give you a sneak peek into the incredible flavors that nature has to offer.
Following the foraging expedition, you can opt to participate in a communal cooking session, creating dishes that are inspired by the season and that celebrate the bounty of nature.
We encourage you to walk, cycle or lift share if possible. There will be limited car parking spaces at the Clumps car park and Earth Trust Centre.
Dates: Saturday 30th November
Time: 10am – 4pm
Price: £70 per person

Responsible foraging can be a way to meaningfully connect with the natural environment. However, as environmental stewards, we also recognise the need to ensure the sustainability of native plant and fungi species.
Foraging is only permitted on Earth Trust land as part of a supervised course with approved partners, or if advance permission has been sought and granted directly from Earth Trust.
