Human History workshops

From stone age and iron age, to romans, saxons and vikings, we bring history to life. Learning experiences in the landscape where it happened.

We have four Human History workshops, suitable for all key stages, that run all year-round. Our tutors will work with your students to offer them a unique day of wonder, discovery and learning.

Most of our workshops are a full day (10am-2.30pm) but some can be run as half days, or combined to create a full day of fun and learning.

We offer sessions throughout the year and tailor activities to the seasons. Our delivery is designed to be ‘Covid-safe’, with options to come to us or we can bring our sessions to your school.

  • Impressive Iron Age

    Bring your class to Earth Trust to learn about the incredible Iron Age - look at and handle some of our amazing Iron Age artefacts, followed by a walk to the site of our Iron Age hill fort.

  • Invaders and Settlers

    Bring your class to Earth Trust to learn about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings and history will come alive as we explore the Wittenham Clumps to learn how these people lived.

  • Influential Romans

    Bring your class to Earth Trust to learn about the ruthless Romans and history will come alive as your class build makeshift shelters as a travelling Roman legion.

  • Sensational Stone Age

    Bring your class to Earth Trust to learn about the sensational Stone Age. From looking at woolly mammoth bones to building Stone Age shelters, your class will have hands-on experience learning about life in this era.
