Earth School

At Earth Trust we offer the opportunity for young people to take their classroom based learning and come to understand its importance in a real world setting.

Our curriculum linked Earth School workshops have been developed with teachers in mind, with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), the Arts and human history for Key Stages 1-4.Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge logo

Our location and environment are our best teaching tools and every session we run is based in the outdoors.

We are lucky to have an Iron Age hill fort, SSSI woodland, grassland habitats and the river Thames all within walking distance of our farm and centre.

We have a small and dedicated team of tutors who will work with your students to offer them a unique day of wonder, discovery and learning.

About our workshops

Every workshop is delivered on our outstanding site which includes woodland, wildflower meadows, extensive farmland, rivers and wetlands, and nationally significant heritage assets. We champion cross-curricular learning at every opportunity, knowing it can greatly enhance student understanding.

Most of our workshops are a full day (10am-2.30pm) but some can be run as half days, or combined to create a full day of fun and learning. We offer sessions throughout the year and tailor activities to the seasons, with options to come to us or we can bring our sessions to your school.

We currently offer 10 workshops, based around two themes: Living World, People & Planet and Human History.
