Wallingford Castle Meadows celebrates prestigious award

Wallingford Castle Meadows has once again been recognised as one of the UK’s best green spaces after receiving a prestigious Green Flag Award for 2026.

The internationally recognised Green Flag Award is the benchmark for well-managed parks and green spaces, celebrating places that are welcoming, well cared for and provide outstanding benefits for both people and nature.

Managed by Earth Trust alongside a dedicated team of local volunteers, Wallingford Castle Meadows has again been recognised for its exceptional quality. Nestled alongside the River Thames beneath the remains of Wallingford Castle, the meadows come alive each spring and summer with colourful wildflowers, butterflies, bees and other pollinators, while the changing seasons bring a wealth of birds and riverside wildlife to discover. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, a chance to spot wildlife or simply somewhere to pause and enjoy the view, it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature.
