Butterfly surveyor
This role involves walking a set transect route and recording the number and species of butterflies you see at a specific site regularly from April to September.
Butterflies are a valuable indicator species, which means that their numbers can often tell us more about the state of their habitats.
By collecting data on butterfly populations we hope to understand more about how the habitats we manage are changing over time and in response to factors such as climate change, pollution and urban development.
