Earth Trust Community Reserve Bioblitz Event

Step into summer with a daytime Bioblitz at the beautiful Thrupp Lake!

As part of our Earth Trust Community Reserve Bioblitz, we’ll be surveying the lake’s rich habitats and recording the wildlife we find. The target species we’ll be looking to spot include wetland birds (with help from expert birders), butterflies and other insects in the grass and meadow.

What to expect:

Led by Earth Trust Ranger, Charley, and our volunteer experts Dave, Mike, and John, we’ll be using specialist equipment – including binoculars, Sweep nets, Insect pots and Eye lenses – to discover the hidden world of our lakeside wildlife.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to conservation efforts in your local area, and learn more about the diverse species that call Thrupp Lake home. Come along for a hands-on morning exploring nature, learning new skills, and helping to build a snapshot of biodiversity at Thrupp Lake.

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a keen wildlife recorder or just curious about what lives in your local green spaces, this is a great way to get involved. Let’s discover the wild side of Thrupp Lake – together!
