Farm Visits
A free farming learning experience, thanks to funding from DEFRA
More and more of the land is being farmed intensively, to meet the needs of a growing population, and often there is little space to take into account the environmental and biodiversity impacts that this approach has. Earth Trust wants to farm differently!
Take time out of the classroom this year to explore what’s involved in ‘regenerative’ farming.
Your class will start their visit with a tour of Earth Trust Farm where they will learn about beetle banks, hedgerow habitats and skylark patches as a way to farm more sensitively, growing food whilst still making space for wildlife.
If you visit for a full day, in the afternoon we have a range of options available including meeting our shepherd Fred’s rare sheep breeds or visiting the Earth Trust Kitchen Garden. Whatever activities you choose, your pupils will leave Earth Trust feeling more connected to nature and with an understanding of a better way to farm.
