Campaign Director

We are recruiting an exceptional Campaign Director to lead the exciting ‘Gateway Project’, a capital development project that will revolutionise our operations, significantly expand our reach and influence, and ensure financial sustainability.

Our purpose is to inspire action on climate, biodiversity, and wellbeing through the power of natural green spaces. Our mission is to ensure everyone can access and engage with these spaces, fostering collective action for people and the planet.

Earth Trust is the guardian of remarkable places rich in nature and heritage. We own and manage Wittenham Clumps, the largest freely accessible natural green space landscape in Oxfordshire, encompassing 500+ hectares of farmland, woodlands, wildflower meadows, and wetlands. We also manage a growing number of urban green spaces, on behalf of local councils and partners.

Through inspiring and award-winning public programming, educational initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, Earth Trust strives to foster a deeper connection between communities and the natural world, empowering individuals to take personal action towards a more sustainable future.

About Gateway

We are embarking on a transformative £10 million strategic capital development programme, known as Gateway, to transform Earth Trust Centre into an innovative, inclusive hub for learning and discovery. This project will enhance our ability to put people at the heart of change, inspiring and empowering communities to address environmental and wellbeing crises through the power of natural green spaces.

About the role

This is a senior role, highly strategic and operational, so a track record of successfully leading and managing capital campaigns/project management is vital. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing an effective Capital Campaign Board, development and delivery of the campaign strategy including a public appeal
  • Identifying and building strong relationships with prospective emajor donors, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and securing five, six, and seven-figure donations.
  • Working with a collaborative and strategic mindset, effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders, key stakeholders and board members.

Experience, skills & attributes

We need an exceptional, entrepreneurial Campaign Director to lead this project and help us realise our vision, someone who can bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate a compelling case for support.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK funding landscape, particularly in relation to environmental and heritage projects.
  • A passionate commitment to Earth Trust’s mission and values.

How to apply

Location: Little Wittenham, South Oxfordshire / Hybrid (min 1-2 days on site per week)

Salary:  £60,000 – £70,000
