Innovation Hub
Innovation Hub was created in 2021 as part of our Gateway Programme, an initiative to find new ways to welcome and excite people about the natural green spaces and heritage at Earth Trust.
The Hub is a re-imagining of our previous learning barn, with a vision to provide a flexible space for welcome and orientation of visitors, alongside multi-use office spaces.
In the short term, the Hub will be used flexibly for events including art exhibitions. Longer term, we hope to create space for a small farm shop, to sell locally sourced and produced food and other goodies.
The refurbishment work included installation of new roof windows and external glass doors, internal partition walls and installation of an attractive external staircase to access the upper floor. The external staircase to the barn was fabricated by Broadleaf Joinery based in Thame. Broadleaf were founded in 1993, by brothers Neil and Anthony Watts, and they were selected for this project for their flexible approach and ability to source local material. Their work has seen them rewarded with several Oxford Preservation Trust Awards. The staircase is constructed from UK-sourced certified oak.
