Are you an experienced leader with the insight, networks, and strategic skills to help shape the future of an ambitious environmental charity? 

Earth Trust is seeking up to three Trustees to guide our growth and impact, helping us inspire action for the environment and create a welcoming Gateway to the natural world. 

 

About the role 

You’ll join Earth Trust at a pivotal time in our 40-year journey, bringing insight and influence to help us deliver bold plans for nature and people. In 2026, we’ll begin transforming our Centre at Wittenham Clumps into a major Gateway to Nature—creating spaces that inspire thousands to take their first steps into the natural world. Trustees play a vital role in strengthening governance, shaping strategy, and ensuring the charity thrives for generations to come. This voluntary role offers the chance to make a lasting difference every day. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Provide strategic oversight and governance 
  • Support the Executive team with advice and constructive challenge 
  • Act as an ambassador for Earth Trust and help build partnerships 
  • Contribute to Board meetings, Committees and task groups 

 

What we’re looking for 

  • Senior-level expertise, practical experience and strong personal networks that can help Earth Trust develop and grow as an organisation 
  • Expertise in wildlife Conservation and land management  – you have your finger on the pulse of innovation in nature conservation, wildlife friendly farming and land management, or similar areas 
  • A Qualified accountant with strategic business planning 
  • Other relevant expertise and capabilities at a senior level, including legal expertise, experience in managing or marketing visitor attractions and hospitality, or the ability to help us build strategic partnership and fundraising connections within Oxford and the wider county. 

 

Role details 

  • Location: Little Wittenham, Oxfordshire  
  • Salary: Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed) 
  • Commitment: Initial three-year term, around a day a month, including four Board meetings each year, Committees and task groups
