This summer we celebrate the continued recognition of our ability to connect communities with the natural world, after receiving our 15th consecutive Green Flag Award for Wallingford Castle Meadows.
The meadow footpath will be temporarily closed from Monday 8th August for around 6 weeks to help protect our livestock.
The floodplains of Riverside Meadows are now a spectacle to behold as we can all enjoy the results of our wildflower seeding project.
When was the last time you went for a walk and felt connected to the experience? So often our lives are busy and full, we’re balancing activities, rushing around, and it’s not always easy to find the time to just ‘go for a walk’. But the rewards have been proven to be significant for our mental and physical health. Getting out in nature and feeling a calm, connection with the wider world, is just as important to our brains as taking an afternoon nap or getting that extra hit of caffeine! Isn’t it time you treated yourself to a good walk?
The meadow will be closed to visitors from Monday 17th May, and will reopen after the hay cut later in the summer to help protect our livestock.
Not only does time spent in nature give our mental wellbeing a boost, but the more diversity we experience the better it is for us.
