Pumpkin Patch, Maize Maze, and more at Earth Trust Farm
We’re excited to open the doors to our annual Pumpkin Patch event this coming weekend. For the next three Sundays (13th, 20th and 27th) and half term week, families can dive into a world of autumn adventures, featuring pumpkin picking, a challenging maize maze, and a host of seasonal activities.
Just days away from launch, the Pumpkin Patch event promises to be the perfect autumn day out for local families. As part of our broader “Thank the Earth” autumn campaign, the event aims to bring people closer to the earth and where their food comes from, while championing accessible natural green spaces for everyone.
Amy Rowland, Public Programming Manager at Earth Trust said: “We’re incredibly excited to open our Pumpkin Patch event this Sunday. It’s the ideal way for families to kick off the autumn season. From selecting the perfect pumpkin straight from the patch where they’ve grown from seed to tackling our giant maize maze, there are so many ways for everyone to engage with nature while having fun. We can’t wait to welcome visitors this weekend and throughout October.”
Event Highlights:
- Pick-your-own pumpkin patch with eight fantastic varieties of pumpkin and squash
- MEGA maize maze challenge
- Storytelling area with seasonal tales for little ones
- Earth Lab ‘Discovery Zone’ with hands-on science experiments
- Scarecrow trail with breathtaking hilltop views
- Delicious handmade ‘Pumpkin Smores’
- Local food vendors offering seasonal treats
The event will run on Sundays 13th, 20th, 27th October and Monday 28th to Thursday 31st October, with sessions from 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm. Tickets are £3 per person in advance (plus booking fee), with children under 3 entering for free. On-the-gate entry will be £5.
As part of the “Thank the Earth” campaign, Earth Trust is promoting a “Craft, Cook, Compost” initiative to educate visitors about reducing food waste. Attendees are encouraged to explore creative ways to use their pumpkins, from crafting to cooking and composting.
“By joining us this weekend and throughout October, families can not only have a fantastic day out but also get closer to where their food comes from,” adds Amy. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to make lasting memories while connecting with the land around us.”
