The Clumps Through Time
Explore the history of Wittenham Clumps and discover the stories beneath your feet.
Wittenham Clumps isn’t just a beautiful spot for a walk – it’s a landscape packed with stories. People have been living, working and leaving their mark on these hills since prehistoric times, through the Bronze Age, the Romans, and the Anglo-Saxons. Every hill and field has something to tell.
Come and join the Earth Trust Education Team for a day built for curious minds of all ages. There’ll be hands-on activities, games, stories and plenty of discovery, exploring how people lived here long before us and how this landscape has quietly transformed over thousands of years.
Whatever your age, there’s plenty to get stuck into – a fun, hands-on way for the whole family to explore history together.
And there’s a bonus: the DigVentures Archaeology team will be on site, actively excavating a Roman Villa. Drop by and watch archaeology happening live – you might even spot a new discovery as it comes out of the ground.
Dates: Tuesday 27th – Thursday 29th October 2026
Times: 10am-3pm
Location: Earth Trust Farm, OX14 4QZ
