A magical Springtime celebration for curious young explorers. Help our farmer welcome the season of new life in a magical Spring celebration for the whole family.

Step into the season of new life at Earth Trust! Help the farmer tend to our newborn lambs and calves, explore blooming gardens and minibeasts, play on the mini tractors and hobby horses, get hands-on with nature in our mud kitchen and water play, create nature inspired crafts and much more!

Designed especially for families with children aged 2-8, ‘Spring on the Farm’ offers a fantastic day outdoors for nature enthusiasts of all ages, with the chance to meet and connect with the new life that makes springtime so special. If you’re looking for a relaxed and joyful alternative to busy holiday attractions, packed with opportunities to have fun and explore as a family, then this is the event for you.

Location: Earth Lab, Earth Trust Centre, Little Wittenham
Cost: £12 per child (adults and under 2s free with the purchase of a child ticket)
Suitability: Ages 2 – 8 years (children must be accompanied by an adult)

What to Expect

 

🐑 Be a Farmer Experience – get up close to our lambs and calves, check their water, fill up their hay, and give the sheep a treat!  

🌿 Spring sensory garden – discover blossom, scents & signs of spring  

🔍 Nature detective – explore the weird and wonderful world of minibeasts

🚜 Play activities – from mini tractors to hobby horses, musical wall to ball games, there is so much to explore

 

🎨 Creative crafts – get hands-on and make your own nature-inspired creation

🔥 Campfire story – gather round and let tales of nature spark the imagination. Toast your own s’mores for an additional fee of £2.

🧺 Outdoor play – go wild in our mud kitchen, splash around in the water play and explore the Earth Trust garden 

🍦 Grab a treat from the Welcome Hub – refuel with a coffee or cool down with an ice cream

Important information

Our family activities will run from 10am to 3.30pm each day, with some of our activities running on schedules. When you arrive, you’ll sign up for one of our Be a Farmer experience timeslots, which will run regularly throughout the day. You’re also welcome to bring your little ones to one of either our morning or afternoon storytime sessions. Outside of these activities, our grounds, gardens and play areas are yours to explore at your leisure!

All children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult per max 2 children). You are responsible for the safety of your children at all times.

  • Please bring a picnic lunch and any drinks/snacks you might need
  • Wrap up warmly, we’ll be outdoors for most of the session!
  • Weather-dependent activities — we’ll adapt if needed.
  • Our Session Leader is a trained First Aider and all adults are DBS checked

We may take photographs at the session, to help us promote our future events, but just let the Session Leader know if you would rather not have your child in these.
