Little Acorns: Star Sparkles

Little Acorns Starry Skies
Step into a world of nighttime wonder as the Earth Trust gardens transform into a sparkling, sensory playground for curious young explorers. Each session in our Little Acorns Starry Skies series invites families to experience the magic of nature after dark – from constellations and storytelling to playful outdoor adventures that celebrate the beauty of winter evenings.

Each event is based on a different aspect of the night sky, so you can choose your favourite heavenly theme, or come along to all three for an inspiring series of learning about the wonders of the universe!

Designed especially for children aged 3–8 and their grown-ups, these cosy twilight gatherings blend discovery, creativity and outdoor fun in a safe, enchanting setting. Wrap up warm and get ready to make star-lit memories together.

Session 1: Star Sparkles

Friday 16 January

Come and discover the wonders of the night sky with your little ones in our Little Acorn winter event, featuring extra sparkle!

As twilight settles over the Earth Trust gardens, set out on a magical star safari to spot constellations such as Scorpio the Scorpion, Leo the Lion and more. Enjoy playful adventures beneath the darkening sky — from dashing through the orchard in Shooting Stars to leaping into our twinkling Star Craft area.

Little ones can add a touch of seasonal magic with glitter-dust face painting, giving them that extra twinkle as they explore. Afterwards, cosy up by the fire pit for a story and treat yourselves to delicious moon-mallow pies, the perfect way to end your starlit adventure.

Our popular Little Acorns sessions feature a variety of seasonal activities for children to explore, inspired by the natural world. They are child-led experiences, so our tutors support and guide children, but do not direct them, to allow each child to lead their own learning while developing their curiosity for nature.

  • Some activities may be weather dependent.
  • Please bring a torch for exploring after dark.
