Family Nature Days
This Summer we invite your 5-11 year olds to explore the fascinating world of minibeasts –some of the most important creatures in the world!
Become a nature detective! Your job is to explore and discover all the hidden wildlife at Earth Trust.
You and your little ones will learn all about the minibeasts that live across our habitats, and their incredible superpowers! By recycling waste, pollinating our plants, and even preying on other minbeasts, discover how these tiny creatures are critical to keeping our planet healthy!
Our Family Nature activities will take place over four sessions, each with a new habitat to enjoy!
Wednesday 22nd July – Sweep our meadows!
Wednesday 29th July – Explore our Rookery woodland!
Wednesday 5th August – Identify trees in our Broad Arboretum!
Thursday 20th August – Investigate life in our freshwater stream!
Event Details
Date: Wednesday 22nd July | Wednesday 29th July | Wednesday 5th August | Thursday 20th August
Time: 10am – 12pm. Please arrive between 9:45am and 10am for a prompt start.
Ages: Suitable for ages 5-11 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Not suitable for under 2s
Location: Earth Trust Centre and Wittenham Clumps
Price: £10 per child (accompanying adults free)
Spaces are limited and may sell out quickly, so book now for a day of family fun, learning, and adventure!
Important information
Please be mindful this is a physical morning spent outdoors, and children need to be up for the challenge. We will be walking to various locations around our site, some of which are not suitable for push chairs. This activity is not suitable for under 2s, and children need to be comfortable spending the two hours on their feet.
- Please bring a packed lunch and snacks.
- Dress for outdoor exploration – long sleeve tops and long trousers – and be prepared for all weathers: warm/waterproof clothing and wellies
- Our Session Leaders are trained First Aiders and all adult helpers are DBS checked
- You are responsible for the safety of your children at all times
- Please arrive by 9:45am for a prompt start as the two hour experience takes place in various locations.
Parking: Ample free parking is available at Earth Trust Centre
