Safeguarding Children & Adults at Risk

The safety and wellbeing of everyone who visits, works, or volunteers with us is our top priority. We actively want children, young people, and adults to feel safe, respected, and supported.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you are enjoying our green spaces, taking part in an event, or working alongside our staff and volunteers, you can expect us to take safety seriously.

What is “safeguarding”?

Safeguarding is just a big word for keeping people safe. It means

  • We have some rules on how to make sure our spaces are welcoming and safe to enjoy.
  • We will listen to you if you are worried.
  • We have training to know what to do if someone needs help.
  • We will work with schools, parents, carers and local services to make things better.

If you ever feel unsafe or want to tell us something

If something happens that makes you feel worried or uncomfortable, please talk to one of our team. If this is something happening elsewhere, at home or in a school, we will still listen.

  • At events or during activities, you can usually sport us in an Earth Trust purple t-shirt or coat with our logo on
  • Every activity will have someone “in charge” of keeping you safe or talking about a problem – so ask to speak to them
  • If you want, you can also ask to speak to our overall Safeguarding Lead away from everyone else – his name is Dave Lewis (Director of Operations) – [email protected]

What to Do if You Have a Concern

If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of someone, please contact us straight away.
