Harvest at the Clumps

What a way to send off the summer! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Harvest at the Clumps, including ITV – over four fun-filled days, families descended on Earth Trust to celebrate the season, dig into where our food really comes from, and soak up the outdoors one last time before the new school term.

There was mud, there was mischief, and there was plenty of learning along the way. Families followed the farmer’s trail, scrambled up hay bales, met our beekeepers and got stuck into nature-inspired crafts – proof that exploring harvest, food and farming can be brilliant, hands-on fun.

Our highlights from the event

Nothing beats watching children learn through play – grinding grain, spinning wool, poring over the nature table, and peering through microscopes to uncover the tiny details of the natural world. Add a hay bale obstacle course into the mix, and the day was full of laughter as much as learning. We were also delighted to welcome ITV News, who came along on the first day to capture it all on film.

Beyond the activities, there was a quiet sense of connection and curiosity – questions asked, wonder rekindled, and everyone leaving a little closer to nature, farming, and the extraordinary landscape on their doorstep.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and to our volunteers, activity leaders and beekeepers for adding a little bit of magic to the event.
