Corporate Volunteering

Volunteers are an invaluable part of the Earth Trust community, carrying out much of our vital work to care for and champion accessible natural green spaces across Oxfordshire.

Volunteering is a great way to bring your team together, taking part in hands-on and rewarding projects that benefit both people and the environment. Learn first-hand from our knowledgeable staff about biodiversity, how to care for green spaces – and more – in a fun and relaxed setting.

With over 500 hectares around Little Wittenham, plus five community reserves around Wallingford, Abingdon and Didcot, there’s always lots to do.

We’d love to welcome your team.

Experience how we care for our green spaces and nurture the brilliant biodiversity within them. We offer groups (of 15 people or more) the opportunity to spend the day with a member of our Land Management team helping to care for the habitats across our farm.

We’re out in every season, whatever the weather – from hedgelaying and coppicing in the autumn to scything and scrub clearing in the summer, from maintaining the gardens at our HQ to carrying out wildlife surveys around South Oxfordshire.

Thank you so much for the wonderful day. Everyone absolutely loved it.

We learned so much, we had a lot of fun and it was wonderful to spend the day in the woodland and connect with nature.

So many people are talking about coming back to check on the trees this summer and go for a walk in the area.

We charge a fee (£60 +VAT per person) to cover the costs of supervising the group, planning and set up for the day.  We provide a full risk assessment and insurance, and the provision of all necessary tools and safety equipment.

Any additional income generated from corporate volunteering goes to support our charitable objectives.

Your volunteering support will help us to

Broaden the reach and diversity of the audience we engage

Develop and demonstrate new ways to care for the environment

Our land management activity is seasonal, so we can’t guarantee that all tasks will be available, but there is always plenty to do. The time your team spends with us will help us to:

  • Improve the physical infrastructure of our green spaces to enable greater diversity of local level access into the countryside
  • Collect and generate new evidence, data and research partnerships to influence green space thinking
  • Continue to create and restore biodiverse and climate resilient habitats
  • Demonstrate how agricultural change can produce multiple benefits including healthy soils, increased biodiversity and improved health outcomes

Volunteering for individual employees

Our regular outdoor volunteer work parties run on Thursdays and Fridays, assisting our Land Management team with a wide variety of tasks. We can cater for up to 3 of your employees to join any one session, at no cost.

Alternatively, individual employees could support one of our events or assist our centre maintenance volunteering team.
