Phonics in the forest

Our summer holiday activities this year are FREE thanks to the generous donations of those who supported our Spring Appeal. All the sessions will be led by one of our experienced environmental education tutors.

Please come ready to have fun, wearing appropriate clothes and footwear for the weather on the day – the sessions will go ahead come rain or shine! All children must be accompanied by an adult but please only 1 adult per child if possible.

The terrain is suitable for off road buggies but not scooters. Toilets will be available and you are welcome to picnic on site before or after the session (no food or drink will be available to be purchased).

  • Aimed at foundation age children up to lower KS2 (approx. 3-6year olds)
  • Times – Thursday mornings 10-12noon throughout August
  • Using the woods to think about letters, words, stories and writing. Each week we will be using the woods to tell, read and make stories, think about letters and sounds, and mark making using only trees for our paper and mud as our pencils!
  • Up to 30 children, with max 1 adult per child

Please note that this is the same workshop as the other ‘Phonics in the forest’ dates.
