Deer Park Wood Nature Day

We’re teaming up with Witney Woodland Volunteers who are running several free nature events on Friday 1 June and Saturday 2 June.

Friday 1st June

Join the group at the Range Road entrance to Deer Park Wood for;

  • Moth Magic! Meet at 7:30 PM to join Moth Recorders as they set up their moth traps and hear more about their work
  • Bat walk! Meet at 9:00 PM and learn how moths can be identified using a bat detector (please bring a torch)

Saturday 2nd June

  • Early morning chorus walk. Meet at 6:00 AM at the Range Road entrance to Deer Park Wood. Join the group, led by Terry Ewart of Witney Woodland Volunteers, to hear and identify the early morning birdsong
  • Nature Day. 10 AM – 2 PM. Drop in for a day of family events, from mini-beasting to big beasting to nature detecting and night wanderers – examining overnight wildlife footage. Please bring a picnic lunch and your own refreshments

All events are FREE to attend (donations welcomed).
