School Holiday Engagement Volunteers
Every school holiday we have a variety of activities and events running for children and families. These hugely benefit from the extra help of volunteers and we’re always on the lookout for new folk who love getting stuck in and showing families how they can have fun with the nature on their doorstep!
What does the role involve?
You’ll help set up, run and pack away our events and drop-in sessions for children and families. You might be showing children how to make an apple bird feeder, getting them started on a scavenger hunt, building clay animals or getting stuck in with the mud kitchen! Of course, all volunteers get a full briefing so you’ll be shown what to do and have back up from staff every time. Events take place in Little Wittenham and at our community reserves in Abingdon, Didcot and Wallingford.
What attitudes, skills and experience do I need?
No previous experience is needed, you just need to be upbeat and ready to get stuck in! You’ll enjoy working with children and families and not mind getting muddy.
How will the team support me?
You will be fully supported by the Earth Trust Team and will have a dedicated staff member to support your role and offer you advice and guidance.
You will receive a full volunteer induction giving you the opportunity to get to know more of the team and learn about the organisation’s work.
How much time do I need to commit?
The school holiday drop-in sessions happen outside of term time. You might have a morning spare or you might be interested in coming along on a more regular basis – we’re always pleased to have extra help!
Benefits of this role
You will be out on our beautiful nature reserves having fun! You’ll be part of our lovely team and gain the experience of showing children and families how they can have fun out in the great outdoors.
