Land Managment Groups

Volunteers play a vital role in the management of our sites, which cover 1,200 acres around Little Wittenham, plus five other green spaces in and around Wallingford, Abingdon and Didcot.

Volunteers help us to:

  • Create and manage wildlife habitats using a range of techniques and activities
  • Provide and improve access, through step building, path management and fencing

Both groups are currently open to new volunteers.  You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience to come along – beginners are very welcome! We provide a full briefing at the start of each session and our friendly groups will help you get started.  These groups can be physically demanding but there are always a variety of tasks that are offered.  Please speak with the member of staff if you have any concerns or need more guidance with a task.

We provide all the health and safety equipment.  If you’re coming for a whole day, bring a packed lunch and hot drinks. The groups go out whatever the weather so dress accordingly and wear sturdy footwear (wellies or walking boots would be suitable).

Volunteers aged 16-17yrs will need signed parental consent to come along, volunteers aged 14-15yrs will need to bring a parent/guardian.  We cannot currently accept volunteers under the age of 14. Please contact us on the details below for more information.

If you would like to come along, all you need to do is complete a volunteer registration form and sign up to the volunteer bulletin.
