Earth Trust has an army of dedicated volunteers, assisting across all elements of the organisation, and we couldn’t do much of what we do without them. We are delighted to be able to offer businesses the opportunity for their employees to volunteers with us, by either joining one of our regular work parties or bringing a team for a volunteering day.
Volunteering for small groups
As a small organisation, corporate volunteering works best for us when done as individuals or in a small group. We run regular volunteer work parties on Thursdays and Fridays, who assist our Land Management team with a wide variety of tasks, and we can cater for up to 3 of your employees to join any one session. Alternatively, individual employees could support us at one of our events or assist our centre maintenance volunteering team. We recommend that any employees complete our online registration form and get in touch with our Volunteer Officer via email.
Volunteering days for larger groups
We can also cater for larger groups, who can spend the day with a member of our Land Management team to undertake a habitat management task out on our farm. Tasks vary from season to season, with the majority taking place on our site in Little Wittenham, but could include coppicing, weed control or tree planting. These sessions will give you an opportunity to learn how we look after our green spaces and perhaps learn new skills, while spending the day outside and away from the office.
We currently charge £60 +VAT per person for corporate volunteer days for larger groups (minimum of 10 people). This helps to cover the costs of supervising the group, planning and set up for the day, a full risk assessment and insurance, and the provision of all necessary tools and safety equipment. Any income generated from this goes to support our charitable objectives (there is no charge for individuals or smaller groups (up to 3) joining our regular work parties).
Our Land Management tasks vary from season to season and we can never guarantee that all tasks will be available, but take a look at our list of possible tasks to see what your group could get up to.
