Fundraising Bridge Afternoon

A fantastic afternoon was had by all at the fundraising event on Tuesday 7th May held in Fison Barn. It was generously led and organised by Belinda Hanson, who has for some time now supported the Earth Trust through increasing local engagement and raising much needed funds.

The afternoon was opened with a warm welcome from Belinda,  followed by a few words from Laura King, Earth Trust’s Development Manager, who gave an overview of the work we’re doing and our visions for the future. This was followed by some very skilful bridge playing, good conversation and an impressive afternoon tea spread, generously provided and prepared by a team of volunteers. The raffle was a huge success with attendees walking away with prizes such as an original print by local artist Jane Duff , a hamper of produce from Little Wittenham Manor, a case of local cider and two tickets for one of Earth Trust’s guided walks, all donated by from our generous supporters and local businesses.

We were delighted to have hosted this intimate fundraising event and extend our thanks to everyone involved, including the volunteers behind the scenes who made this happen. A total of £1,370 was raised in aid of Earth Trust and the Friends of St Peter’s Church. The donations for Earth Trust will have a wonderful impact on our work, ensuring that all the green spaces we care for are thriving and freely accessible for everyone to enjoy.
