Be part of our archaeological dig

Fancy being Indiana Jones for the day? As part of our archaeology season, this March we’ve got an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a community dig with our Dig Experience (for adults) and Dig Camp (for families) days. DigVentures’ friendly team of expert archaeologists will teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll get to spend the day learning about archaeology, while actually helping to investigate the site. A vast Iron Age and Roman settlement is being uncovered here in Little Wittenham and you can be part of the action!

Dig Camp
21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th March

Archaeology isn’t just for adults! Bring your child to Dig Camp to find out what it’s like to be an archaeologist. Each two hour session (two available each day) offers a chance to get your hands dirty in a real excavation. £15 for one adult and one child. Find out more.

Dig Experience
24th-27th March, 10am-4.30pm

This is a unique opportunity to dig alongside archaeologists, and help uncover the past! DigVentures’ friendly team of experts will teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll get to spend the day learning about archaeology, while actually helping to investigate the site. Adults only; £20 (£15 for Friends, Volunteers, students and OAPs). Find out more.
