Spring Food and Farming
After the long winter months, Spring is an extra special time on the Earth Trust farm. Join us for a spring-focused farming workshop, as life bursts forth once more!
Your class will get close up to shepherd Emma’s new-born lambs and if your very very lucky even see one being born. Pupils will also learn about the arable crops grown at this time of year, find out what they make, and use our quern stone and mill to mill wheat and oats. You’ll also have the opportunity to milk our cow and have a go at making butter.
For more information and to tailor your activities to the age and interest of your class please email the Learning team.
NB: This workshop includes a visit to our sheep sheds to see lambs and pregnant ewes – this part of the visit is NOT suitable for pregnant woman.
