“I have been volunteering with Earth Trust, at the Wittenham Clumps, since February 2019. I feel very lucky to be able to spend all day outside in such beautiful countryside, with a lovely group of people learning new skills and making a difference.

From traditional hedgelaying and chopping logs to coppicing hazel, I have learnt so many different countryside skills. On a foggy February morning I was clearing and burning brash at the edge of a field, as the fog lifted I realised I was at the foot of the Wittenham Clumps! It was beautiful to see it appearing out of the fog.

I feel very lucky to volunteer and learn in such a beautiful setting, it is also a great way to keep fit! A huge thank you to Tim and the Earth Trust staff for taking the time to explain each new task thoroughly.”
